Your 10 Minute Self-Care Reset Handbook

Here’s the full 10 minute reset, start to finish– including the part that actually makes you feel different. 

This summer we are all about reconnecting with simplicity. You don’t need a long self-care routine to feel refreshed. A short routine that you will actually make time for is all you need to get your mind and your body in check. 


Minutes 1-5: 

First, take a quick shower. Rinse off the day or get ready for the day ahead. This is when you’ll exfoliate– you can read more about different ways to exfoliate here. After you exfoliate, all of the dull skin will be gone and this is when you can lock in moisture to catch that glow.

When you’re done showering, don’t fully dry off. Pat your skin dry so you aren’t dripping, but keep your skin damp for body butter application. This helps the body butter absorb into your skin without feeling heavy and greasy. 


Minutes 6-10:

Now that your skin is renewed, let’s work on your mind. This is the shift that elevates your self-care routine. It’s what most women forget about, but it is actually the most important part. 

These 10 minutes are yours. Relax without thinking about anything other than yourself. Do some breathwork while you put on some body oil and create some ambient lighting. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, and exhale for 6 seconds. Enjoy the scents of your body care items and take in the stillness.

Your heart rate is now cueing your body to relax and you are ready for some mirror affirmations. Create your affirmations based on what you are looking to change in your life. “I’m burned out” becomes “I can do anything, but I don’t have to do everything”. 

Taking care of your mind is equally important as taking care of your body. Just 10 minutes a day and you’ll be shining from the inside out.
