Why Your Body Butter “Stops Working” by 2PM (And The 10 Second Fix)

Why Your Body Butter “Stops Working” by 2PM (And The 10 Second Fix)

We’ve all been there. Out and about internally cringing at how dry and dehydrated our skin feels and counting down the seconds to when we can go home and fix it. But what if I told you there’s a secret to getting your body butter to work smarter not harder? Your body butter isn’t evaporating. And you aren’t using too little. It just isn’t sealed properly. Here’s the exact 10 second step that keeps body butter working all day– not just the first hour.

💧Water needs a barrier to stay in your skin. If you apply body butter on dry skin, it will not absorb well. Applying body butter on damp skin locks in the moisture from the water and helps the body butter absorb.

🌟Here’s the exact order to keep your skin moisturized all day long:

  • If you shower in the morning, pat your skin dry. You want your skin to stay damp without dripping everywhere.

  • If you don’t shower in the morning, use a washcloth to dampen your skin and create a layer of moisture.

  • Apply body butter onto the damp skin– make sure to pat it in rather than rub it in to keep a strong barrier.

  • Wait 10 seconds before getting dressed to give your products a chance to start soaking in.

☀️Applying body butter correctly helps your skin stay moisturized longer, but in the summer heat some type of reapplication is almost inevitable. That’s where your body oil comes in. We sell ours in a 2 ounce size so you can conveniently take it on the go.

Some of the first spots that will need reapplication, in summer especially, are your elbows, knees, and ankles. These areas are often overlooked, yet they usually need the most love. A cracked heel ruining sandal season is every girl’s worst nightmare.

Keeping your skin hydrated allows you to show off your gorgeous skin all summer long.
