Ever read a label and not know what half of the ingredients listed were? Us too. That’s why we believe in label transparency, natural ingredients, and finding the best products to put in our body care. Most body care products are full of water and fillers. Here’s exactly what’s in your jar. We chose every single ingredient on purpose.
Shea Butter
This is what creates a deeply moisturizing base. Shea butter is known for soothing irritated skin and supporting healing. Because it is packed with vitamins A and E, shea butter is considered to be rich in antioxidants. This means it can assist in reducing fine lines and encourage cell regeneration– get ready to say goodbye to any scars and scratch marks you may have.
Cocoa Butter
This is shea butter’s best friend. Cocoa butter locks in hydration and the moisture layer provided by shea butter. It soothes your skin by softening rough patches and hydrating dehydrated skin. Cocoa butter also soothes eczema and minor burns. This butter is full of vitamin E, which helps protect your skin from environmental damage.
The Oils
-
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba is technically a liquid wax despite being considered a plant oil. This is what allows it to moisturize so deeply and not leave an oily, greasy residue on top of your skin. Jojoba oil mimics natural sebum, your body’s natural oil, and cues your body that it has enough oil, which aids in keeping pores unclogged by avoiding overproducing oil.
-
Grapeseed Oil: Grapeseed oil is a lightweight moisturizer that strengthens your skin’s barrier. Grapeseed oil is rich in Vitamin E and linoleic acid, which is an essential omega-6 fatty acid. Linoleic acid cannot be created by the human body, but it is crucial to maintaining the skin’s moisture barrier. Because of this, linoleic acid must be absorbed through diet or direct application to the skin.
-
Hempseed Oil: Hempseed oil is also rich in linoleic acid, as well as omega-3 and omega-6. It is another lightweight moisturizer that works wonders for oily skin by regulating your natural sebum production. Hempseed oil deeply hydrates your skin by mimicking natural lipids and not clogging your pores.
-
Babassu Oil: Babassu oil deeply penetrates your skin for rich moisturization. Filled with lauric acid, this oil combats acne causing bacteria. Babassu oil is also anti-inflammatory and can protect your skin from environmental factors. It can calm eczema, bug bites, psoriasis, and minor scrapes.
-
Avocado Oil: Avocado oil keeps the skin from drying out by sealing in moisture and preventing trans-epidermal water loss, which is when moisture leaves the skin. A few tablespoons can be used in the bath for an alternative way to moisturize. Using this oil in hot water protects your skin from drying out due to the heat.
What’s Not Included
We believe in natural ingredients. If you can’t pronounce it, it likely is not something you want to put on your body. Simply Bare body butters do not contain water-heavy bases, fillers, or synthetic thickeners. Real ingredients give you better skin results. Synthetic materials can clog your pores, irritate your skin, and break down your skin’s natural barrier. While your skin needs water to stay hydrated, it should not be your body butter’s main ingredient. Applying natural body butter onto damp skin is what your skin actually needs to support a strong moisture barrier. Natural ingredients also create thick body butter on their own. Shea, cocoa, and mango butters are all natural thickening agents and are all included in our body butters.
There’s no need for fillers when your body butter is packed with naturally hydrating and soothing ingredients. You deserve to know what’s touching your skin.
